15 August - Plastic waste's deadly impact on sea life hit home for DTGO members at a special screening of 'A Plastic Ocean' at Major Cineplex Sukhumvit in Ekkamai. The viewing was arranged by CEO Khun Thippaporn Ahriyavraromp to raise awareness and spur action on the issue, which also threatens human health. Directed and narrated by Craig Leeson, the documentary contains stark images of injured and dying birds, fish, and animals. Assoc. Prof. Dr Singh Intrachooto, head of MQDC's Research & Innovation for Sustainability Center (RISC), introduced the film. The world's plastic waste problem worsened by 5.7 million tons during the two-hour screening, he reminded the audience after the screening.
