22 November 2018, Bangkok - ICONSIAM, a joint venture between MQDC, Siam Piwat, and Charoen Pokphand Group, hosted the 'ICONSIAM Chao Phraya River of Life' Loy Krathong festival at the megaproject's River Park.
Dr Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, gave an opening address. Mr Narong Chearavanont, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Iconsiam Superlux Residence Corporation, also spoke.
Magnolias Waterfront Residences at ICONSIAM and The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok invited residents and VIP guests and celebrity artists to join the event using biodegradable natural materials.
The festival promoted the use of 'krathong' floats from natural materials that reduce damage to the environment and help sustain riverside living along the Chao Phraya forever.
The event was honoured by the presence of Ms Warunya Punawakul, Group Chief Strategy Officer of DT Group of Companies, who also visited Srimahasamut Boat Museum.
This is the first floating museum in Thailand to tell the story of the trading ships that laid the foundation for Thonburi to become the commercial hub it remains today.
