The Forestias has a Central Utility Plant (CUP) as its main power source. The CUP will provide cold water to be piped though tunnels to cool the interiors of all the district’s residences and buildings.
The CUP’s tank to store 10,000 cubic meters of cold water is now about 24% complete.
Thermal energy storage (TES) tanks for this district cooling system are now being installed on floors 5 to 10. Their installation and welding are set to finish around 12 April 2022.
