PROJECT PROGRESS

“The Forestias” is the world’s first project to integrate an extensive forest area of about 12 acres. The trees are grown with the eco-forest techniques of Prof. Akira Miyawaki.

95% of the trees are grown from seedlings or seeds. Each tree has a taproot to firmly support it. Growing from seedlings also enables the trees to adapt to their setting. The ecosystem’s diversity and abundance reflect the project’s focus on forest and enables environmental analysis.

The forest has 4 zones

1. Magnolia & Evergreen Forest: The ecosystem here flourishes year-round with a collection of the area’s native species.
2. Fragrant Forest: Flowering plants make this area a wonderful place to visit to relax your mind and body.
3. Edible Forest: Plants in this area bear fruit and show us the benefits of the forest while hosting wonderful family moments.
4. Deep Forest: This dense ecosystem at the heart of the project spans 6,000 square meters. The ground rises 7 meters in a hill with 5 waterfalls. This precious natural forest is closed to visitors and can be viewed only from the Canopy Walk.

The forest is now 100% complete.
