March 2021, Japan – Ms. Tanyatip Chearavanont, CEO and Founder of One.Six Development, features in a Japanese magazine in an interview covering her inspirations for the new-generation developer’s debut project: The Strand Thonglor.

The article explores her vision for the super-luxury condominium, being built in a joint venture with MQDC by Thonglor’s Skytrain station at the heart of Bangkok’s hippest district.
“A concept of the condominium is the beauty of minimalism consisting from the best materials,” she says.

“It would resonate with the senses of world travelers, people with refined and high sensibilities. In Thailand, luxury used to mean that it must be glitzy with fancy decoration and lots of gold. So I would like to introduce a new lifestyle concept, which has not been common in Thailand. Simplicity with the best quality materials can be the new luxury.”

The interview also covers her philanthropic work as the founder and director of The Build Foundation. The non-profit has been constructing schools across Thailand since 2006.

A graduate in Architecture Design and Art History from the University of Pennsylvania, she is also passionate about art and a noted collector. Her favorite artwork is “Little Pilgrim” by the Japanese Pop Art superstar Yoshitomo Nara. This statue depicts a young girl sleepwalking with her pet parrot.

Ms. Tanyatip founded One.Six Development in 2017 with a vision of “focusing on the fundamentals” to deliver high-quality projects with “no gimmicks” and outstanding design.
“I would not make a clear divide between work and life because all experiences in my life inspire and relate to my work,” she tells the magazine.

In her free time she walks around the city to gain inspiration from fashionable bars, cafés, and hotels. “My favorite hotel is Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc at Antibes, France, which is just like another world.”

She describes her dream as to establish One.Six Development as Thailand’s best developer, designing and creating the most beautiful homes in the most beautiful places, applying a vision of understated luxury and functional design.

The Strand Thonglor reflects this belief that, “Real luxury exists in simplicity with the highest quality materials.”
