FutureTales Lab Shares Foresight with The Story Thailand

5 August 2021, Bangkok – Dr. Karndee Leopairote, Chief Advisor to FutureTales Lab, spoke on future foresight and how to prepare for coming changes to The Story Thailand website.

Dr. Karndee discussed future foresight for society, economics, and future trends, starting from collecting data such as the opinions of leading figures to analyze what will happen.

“When we work on Future Foresight, we look for long-term trends and aren’t concerned about seeing everything clearly. We need to see as clear as we can to interpret the present. If it could happen, what should we do? Are there risks to be aware of?

“Research looks at 3 periods: 2021-30, 2031-40, and 2041-50. If we consider what happens in the present we need to use 7 main concepts: 1. Individual & Society 2. Tech & Device around Us 3. Service & Manufacturing 4. City and Where We Live 5. Economy & Geopolitics 6. Environment & Habitat 7. Space Economy.

“When we use future foresight to look at next 30 years, the coming 10 years are ‘The Decade of Struggling’ because of adapting after COVID-19 for survival. If nothing changes, there are only 2 possible results: failing to survive and falling behind in both life and work.”

The coming decade will bring problems and obstacles causing extreme inequality. Social situations will create demand for experts and professionals with human skills. People without special skills will need to adapt fast to survive.

Stay tuned for Dr. Karndee’s interview on asymmetric development in DTGO Daily soon.
