16 November 2020, Bangkok – MQDC is making rapid progress with the construction of The Forestias, Thailand’s largest property development project, valued at THB125 billion ($4 billion), with 95% of utilities and tunneling work now complete and THB4 billion received in bookings.
The development’s unique THB1.4 billion “Forest Pavilion” is also ready to open to the public in the first quarter of 2021 to showcase sample residential units and offer an immersive experience.
Located on Bangna-Trad KM7, The Forestias includes multiple residential components with villas and condominiums for a diverse range of lifestyles and family sizes across 398 rais (64 hectares).
The Forestias has now constructed the services tunnels for its Central Utility Plant (CUP). These utility corridors are already 98% complete, with just some plasterwork outstanding. The Canopy Walk, a raising nature walkway connecting all the residences, is now over 95% complete, with only minor elements of the handrails still to be installed.
The project also includes commercial space for offices, a sports complex, lifestyle activities, retail and food & beverage outlets, family entertainment facilities in a Family Center, a town center for community activities and cultural pursuits, a theater, an event hall, and multiple markets.
A highlight of the project is a 30-rai forest at the centre of the development and a 1.6km canopy walkway that links many of the development’s components and provides a ‘nature-walk’ that weaves above the forest.
Mr. Kittiphun Ouiyamaphun, Project Director – The Forestias, MQDC, said, “The Forestias is a new global prototype for a town development. It has been designed and is being built by some of the world’s most respected experts and organisations to ensure that every aspect promotes a healthier and better quality of life.”
“Our decision to build the world’s first town with every aspect purposefully designed for a healthier lifestyle has been proven to be in line with global trends, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic has made everyone give even greater importance to healthy living.”
MQDC’s investment of THB1.4 billion in the ‘Forest Pavilion’ is the most any property developer in Thailand has ever invested in a facility to show sample units.
The Forest Pavilion, with a functional area of around 6,500 square metres, was created through MQDC’s collaboration with partners including world-class architects Foster + Partners Thailand, ITEC Entertainment (USA), VAVE Studio of Germany, and Bug Studio of Thailand.
Highlights of the Forest Pavilion include the ‘Chamber of Secrets’ with ‘The Wall’, a modular microLED display that gives a revolutionary viewing experience utilizing AI picture enhancement.
The Forestias has residential components to suit the lifestyles and needs of different generations and age groups, whether they be first jobbers, newlyweds, young families, or older parents.
The Forestias features ‘Whizdom’ condominiums, ‘Mulberry Grove’ condominiums and villas, ‘The Aspen Tree’ residences, ‘Six Senses Residences’, and a ‘Six Senses’ hotel.
There is also a large medical center with state-of-the art facilities and eminent medical specialists.
The Forestias is strategically located in the Eastern Economic Corridor, which is predicted to be the fastest growing development corridor in Thailand, with easy access to major highways and mass transport.
