UrbanAction Designs Monkey Hospital
7 August 2024, Bangkok – MQDC’s team of urban architects, UrbanAction, completed a design for a hospital for injured macaques on Monkey Island.
Discussions with local people helped the team design a refuge across 1 rai where the animals can receive care.
UrbanAction is working with Strong-Hearted Monkey Lovers Club, Bang Khun Thian Community, and partners on the project.
The MQDC architects are working with Bang Khun Thian Community to conserve crab-eating macaques that currently come into conflict with local people.
UrbanAction has presented plans for a 12-rai Macaque Forest Park under the Khun Kala Monument master plan.
The award-winning team works with urban communities to plan sustainable development that benefits local people.
