Urban Action Team Helps BMA at Ong Ang
15 January 2023, Bangkok – MQDC’s Urban Action team gathered traders and entrepreneurs in a Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) workshop to find sustainable ways to develop Ong Ang canal.
Urban Action is a team of 6 experts funded by MQDC and its parent DTGO to help local people plan the development of their own communities.
The workshop with Deputy Governor Sanon Wangsrangboon gathered 3 groups: 1 for Samphanthawong and 2 for Phra Nakhon (Saphan Lek and Saphan Han).
Each group presented its area’s strengths, values, and opportunities, looking at the past, present, and future, as well as what traders can do and the support needed from BMA.
This workshop is the first discussion between these communities and BMA’s current executive team.
Urban Action will now help BMA work with other sectors, applying the Chinatown Creative District master plan and City Information Modeling that its team is developing with partners.
