RISC Presents Ambulance Research to “Rak Muang Thai”

8 September 2020, Bangkok – Dr. Sarigga Pongsuwan, Vice President of Integration for Dissemination at Research & Innovation for Sustainability Center (RISC) by MQDC, gave an interview to “Rak Muang Thai” on TNN2 about the HIGH Flow Ambulance for Infection Control.

Dr. Sarigga spoke about research and development for the project by RISC and EMS CHULA to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the interview at the TIPCO building.
The system for ambulances using negative pressure to prevent contaminated air being released. A ventilation system puts air through a purifier to eliminate microbes and create clean air.

RISC experimented with air pressure at -8 to -10 Pa and high air circulation. Data was collected on factors such as CO, CO2, TVOC, PM1, PM2.5, PM10, temperature, RH, wind speed, and wind direction. Testing will be completed for launch in September.

The HIGH Flow Ambulance system to reduce the risk of infection costs about 50,000 baht/vehicle. The innovation could protect not only from COVID-19 but all airborne disease. This research can benefit society and support well-being, aiding hospitals across the country.
