MQDC Brings "Forest Bathing" to Bangkok
11 February 2025, Bangkok – MQDC's Forest Ranger team held a training session for "forest bathing" instructors at The Forestias, the new green district for well-being at Bangna.
Forest bathing is the English term for a Japanese therapy called Shinrin-yoku (森林浴).
The therapy revives us and brings calm and focus by embracing nature through all 5 senses: sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch.
The Forestias is a new forest district across 157 acres at Bangna. Most of this area is green space.
A 12-acre forest at the district’s heart has been grown with Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki’s famous Miyawaki Method.
His techniques create diverse, fast-growing forests in urban areas. Densely planted native species form a rich habitat for wildlife.
Dr. Anong Chanamool and Dr. Sirin Kaewlaiad gave expert tips on principles and methods for forest bathing.
