MQDC Joins WELL Summit in Washington

MQDC featured in the annual summit of the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), whose building standards the developer is pioneering in Thailand. 

Ms. Phetcharin Phongphetkul, a Senior Sustainable Designer at Research & Innovation for Sustainability Center (RISC), joined “WELL Summit 2023” in Washington DC on 25-26 September. 

RISC is a research hub set up by MQDC to advance standards in well-being and sustainability across the sector.  

The center won Thailand’s first WELL Building Standard certification and Southeast Asia’s first “Gold” in the New & Existing Interiors category.  

RISC applies the WELL Standard and its own research for sustainable quality of life in MQDC developments such as The Forestias, a world-first forest district across 64 hectares at Bangna.  

Ms. Phongphetkul shared her experience as a WELL Building Standard expert and presented the concept of The Forestias at the summit. 

The urban forest district is designed under MQDC’s “For All Well-Being” principle with sustainable development in a green neighborhood combining homes with retail, leisure, offices, and healthcare. 

Ms. Phongphetkul received a “2022 IWBI Award” as a WELL Faculty and WELL Accredited Professional (AP), helping achieve equity, well-being, and good quality of life through design.
