MIT Media Lab to Help Create MQDC’s Virtual World

MQDC Idyllias, a virtual world to enhance life for MQDC residents at projects such as The Forestias, will now benefit from MIT Media Lab research.

15 November 2023, Bangkok – MQDC Idyllias, a virtual world to enhance life for MQDC residents at projects such as The Forestias, will now benefit from MIT Media Lab research. 

Translucia, the virtual universe that will host MQDC Idyllias, has become a Consortium Lab Project Member of MIT Media Lab to explore new cross-reality AI technologies for sustainable happiness. 

MQDC Idyllias will seamlessly connect the real and virtual worlds under MQDC’s vision of “For All Well-Being” to uplift human and environmental well-being. 

Mr. Parut Penpayap, CEO of MQDC Idyllias, said: "We hope to unlock capabilities that positively impact the well-being of all through human-nature interactions.” 

The new technologies will boost well-being at the Forestias, MQDC's forest district at Bangna. 

“This initiative aims to bridge the divide between the physical The Forestias and its virtual representation,” said Mr. Penpayap. 

The MIT Media Lab is a research laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, growing out of MIT's Architecture Machine Group in the School of Architecture.
